The British government considers it possible to transfer frozen Russian assets in the amount of 8 billion pounds sterling ($ 10.6 billion) at its disposal to assist Kiev, The Times reports.
"Ministers are ready to transfer 8 billion pounds sterling from Russian assets frozen in the UK to support Ukraine," the statement said.
London is trying to conclude a deal with the European Union and other countries that would allow allocating up to 100 billion pounds ($ 133 billion) for Ukraine's military needs, which "will cover more than two-thirds of Ukraine's financial needs over the next two years to continue the conflict or finance reconstruction if a peace agreement is reached," the newspaper writes..
She recalls that the profits from the frozen assets have already been used to finance Ukraine, and "the new plan is to use the remaining cash to provide Kiev with a "reparations loan" for 2026 and 2027," The Times explains.
