Against the background of Iran's missile strikes on Israel on the evening of June 13, Iranian TV channels reported that Iran was considering closing the Strait of Hormuz, which connects the Persian Gulf with the Indian Ocean, and the Yemeni Houthis were thinking about closing the Bad el-Mandeb Strait, which leads from the Indian Ocean to the Red Sea and to The Suez Canal. In this regard, Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov predicts a high rise in oil prices.

"If this happens, the global oil market will be destabilized, and oil prices will go up sharply," Pushkov writes in the telegram channel.

So far, according to the senator, the feasibility of such an overlap remains behind the scenes, but even partial supply disruptions during the war, according to him, will lead to a significant increase in world oil prices — according to forecasts, up to $ 110 or even up to $ 130 per barrel.
