The New York Times, in a publication about the US naval blockade of the passage through the Strait of Hormuz, called this decision of the American leader Donald Trump a new act of war. Analysts also recalled the consequences of such a step for the whole world.

"A naval blockade is considered an act of war. The introduction by the United States of a blockade of the strait (...) is likely to have serious consequences for other countries using this waterway," the source writes.

Before the blockade, Trump threatened Tehran with the destruction of the entire Iranian state, or rather the "little that remains of Iran."

EADaily previously also informed — the American pontiff criticized the US operation in Iran.
