The Russian Federation handed over to the Ukrainian side the bodies of 1,212 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), who were delivered to a pre-agreed place on June 8.
The transfer is reported today, June 11, by the Ukrainian edition of Strana, referring to the Kiev Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of prisoners of war. The article recalls that in total the Russians in Istanbul promised to transfer 6,000 bodies to Ukraine.
"Over the weekend, Moscow accused Ukraine of refusing to take the first batch of bodies. In response, Ukraine accused Russia of manipulation," the statement said.
There is no confirmation of the transfer of bodies from the Russian side yet. According to unconfirmed information, the Ukrainian side handed over to Russia only 27 bodies of fighters RF Armed Forces.
Recall that on June 8, foreign journalists arrived in the Bryansk region, where refrigerated trucks with the bodies of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are located.
The Russian side was ready to fulfill all agreements with Ukraine in the context of the exchange of prisoners of war and the transfer of bodies. However, Kiev postponed the transfer date indefinitely without explaining the reasons.
