In Novosibirsk, an attack was made on the crew of the REN-TV channel. This was reported in the telegram channel by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
"My Novosibirsk colleagues are investigating the circumstances of the attack on the crew of the REN TV channel TV in Dzerzhinsky district of Novosibirsk. Three residents of one of the houses on Karavaev Street, armed with sticks, attacked journalists who were carrying out an editorial assignment," she wrote.
Volk added that the offenders were taken to the police department No. 5 "Dzerzhinsky" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Novosibirsk.
The Office of the Investigative Committee for the Novosibirsk region reported that a criminal case had been opened on this fact under Part 3 of Article 144 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (obstruction of the legitimate activities of a journalist).
According to the investigation, journalists filmed a story about fraud committed by residents of the region.
"At this time, two men began to demand that journalists stop filming what was happening on a video camera, caused them bodily injuries, then damaged the video camera and the phone," the report says.
Currently, investigators are interrogating the participants of the incident and witnesses, conducting a set of investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
The attackers have been detained, and in the near future the court will consider the petition of the investigation to elect a preventive measure in the form of detention.
