Ukraine demands that Russia hand over the cease-fire memorandum immediately, without waiting for a new round of talks in Istanbul on June 2. This was stated in the social network X by the country's Foreign Minister Andrei Sibiga.
"Why wait until Monday? If the Russian Federation has developed a memorandum, you can transfer it immediately. We expect that the Russian side will not disrupt the next meeting and will immediately submit its proposals for our consideration, as previously agreed. Only a well—prepared meeting has the potential to achieve tangible results," writes Sibiga, quoted by Strana.
The head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, in turn, said on the social network that he had handed over the Ukrainian memorandum to Russia, and also demanded that Moscow hand over a similar document before the second round of negotiations.
"I handed over to the head of the Russian delegation our document reflecting the Ukrainian position. They received this document... the Russian side has at least four more days before departure to hand over their document to us for processing," Umerov writes.
As reported by EADaily, Russia is ready to hand over the memorandum to Ukraine on June 2 in Istanbul, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a briefing today.
Recall, Russia offered Kiev the exact date and place of the meeting for the exchange of memoranda with a list of conditions for a cease-fire, Ukraine has not yet responded to the proposal. This was stated by the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, the head of the Russian negotiating group on Ukraine, Vladimir Medinsky.
So Medinsky commented on the reports of world agencies that the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, called him about the cease-fire memorandum, which Russia has allegedly not yet prepared and is not in a hurry.
