The failure of the agreements reached in Anchorage a year ago lies entirely on the conscience of the American side. This was stated by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, commenting on the words of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that proposals for a Ukrainian settlement have failed.

The comment was made in Cholpon-Ata, where the summit of the foreign ministers of the SCO countries is taking place today.

"As for the fact that the Anchorage agreements failed, it is probably necessary to understand who exactly failed," Lavrov told reporters.

He recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin came to the summit in Alaska, having in his hands the US proposals approved by the American leader Donald Trump, to which Russia agreed.

"If there is a proposal, there is an agreement, then, probably, there were agreed results in Anchorage? Were. President Trump, I will not betray a big secret, I have said more than once that this is our proposal, partly a compromise. We have accepted that this is a compromise proposal, and any agreement should probably contain an inevitable element of compromise," Lavrov said. — But he added that Zelensky would do what he suggested. Well, I couldn't do it."
