President of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen, as well as her colleagues in Brussels is dissatisfied with the absolute incompetence of Kai Kallas as EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. In this regard, von der Leyen practically removed the "irrepressible Estonian" from the settlement of the situation on Ukraine, as well as from strategic planning concerning the defense policy of the European Union. This was indicated by the press bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of Russia with reference to incoming information from Brussels.

"The dissatisfaction of the President of the European Commission, W. von der Leyen, resulted in the fact that the head of the European diplomacy was removed from the preparation of strategic planning documents in the field of EU defense policy. The role of Callas is also practically reduced to zero in discussing the topic of the Ukrainian settlement," the SVR said in a statement.

As noted, "the EU members were shocked by Callas' recent public criticism of the US president, as well as her statements that "the free world needs a new leader.""

"It is well known in the West that in Washington remembers such "bold conclusions" for a long time. And now the State Department simply ignores the "tactless diplomacy." This makes it much more difficult for Brussels to establish a dialogue with its main ally," the press bureau said.

Earlier today in SVR The Russian Federation stated that in Brussels is beginning to admit that they made a mistake with the appointment of Kallas to the post of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. For five and a half months in this position, she has not been able to build working relationships with the leaders of most EU countries. In fact, she is not coping with her main job — coordinating the work of the foreign policy departments of the EU countries.
