The United States, in fact, is withdrawing from the negotiations and washing its hands of it — this is a diplomatic defeat for Ukraine. This was stated by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Alexey Goncharenko❶.

This is how he commented on the post of US President Donald Trump on the Truth Social social network after his telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

"The most terrible phrase in Trump's post is: "The conditions for this will be discussed between the TWO sides, as it can be, because they know the details of the negotiations that no one else knows about." This is the key phrase. Neither the Vatican, nor everything in the world… In fact, the United States is withdrawing from the negotiations and washing its hands of it," Goncharenko writes in his telegram channel.

According to him, this happened because Kiev agreed to direct negotiations with Russia — without the United States.

"We had to stand to the last so that the United States could participate in the negotiations and be a part of them. And now it will be like this: well, Ukraine and the Russian Federation could not agree, I'm sorry," the MP laments.

He called the incident a "diplomatic defeat" of Ukraine.

According to Goncharenko's forecast, "there will be no peace until the end of the year," since Russian President Vladimir Putin "wants to conduct another offensive campaign."

"And after it, he wants to sit down at the table and negotiate. Therefore, that's it," the deputy summed up.
