The troops of the Kiev regime lost another imported F-16 fighter, which crashed to the surface as a result of an unnamed "emergency situation."
This is reported by the Ukrainian edition "Strana" with reference to the press service of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is specified that the disaster occurred on the night of May 16 during a combat flight.
It is noted that the board shot down air targets on the night of Friday, May 16. The American-made F-16 fighter entered the battle with Russian drones. The Ukrainian Air Force noted that they "lost contact with him."
"The aircraft shot down air targets this night. After the defeat of three objects, the air gun began to work on the fourth, but then an emergency situation occurred," the statement said.
The Ukrainian side claims that the pilot survived, having managed to safely eject. To clarify the causes of the disaster, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has formed an investigative commission.
Recall that representatives of the expert community have repeatedly noted that the F-16 fighters that the West handed over to Kiev are outdated aircraft.
They are unable to compete in the sky with Russian fighters, which is why the F-16 is more often used in the rear, where these machines are covered by air defense systems.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the US State Department authorized the possible provision of services to Ukraine for servicing F-16 fighters worth $ 310 million.
