The Estonian Navy attempted to intercept the JAGUAR tanker sailing under the flag of Gabon through the international waters of the Gulf of Finland to the port of Primorsk. This is reported by the telegram channel "Military Observer".
"The published footage shows how the Estonians demand that the ship change course and follow their instructions, and the AgustaWestland AW139 helicopter, the M28 Skytruck aircraft (former C-145A) fly over the ship, and the patrol boat EML Raju (P6732) of the Estonian Navy sails at close range. At some point, the Russian Su-35S comes to support the tanker. It is reported that the crew did not comply with the requirements and this capture attempt was unsuccessful," writes TK.
It is noted that this is not the first case of Estonian piracy — on April 11, the Estonian Navy detained the Kiwala tanker heading from India to the Russian port of Ust-Luga.
As EADaily reported, the Kiwala tanker detained in the Gulf of Finland, classified as a Russian "shadow fleet", was not allowed to move on until the problems identified in it were eliminated. This was stated by the Estonian authorities, the BBC reported.
Due to the efforts of Estonian officials, Kiwala had 40 problems — 23 of them related to documentation, and the rest to technical condition and seaworthiness. This was stated by the head of the Maritime Department of the Estonian Department of Transport Kristjan Truu.
Recall, the Kiwala tanker detained in Estonia on April 11, bound for the Russian port of Ust-Luga, has eliminated the identified deficiencies and can leave the country. This was stated by the director of the Maritime Service of the Department of Transport, Kristian Truu.
