The head of the Department of digital Development and information Protection of the Rosgvardiya, Major General Mikhail Varentsov, was detained in Moscow. This was reported by a source in the law enforcement agencies of the capital, reports TASS.
"Varentsov has been detained, investigative actions are currently underway with him, as a result of which a decision will be made to elect a preventive measure for the general of the Rosgvardiya," the report said.
According to the source, the general was detained as part of a criminal case on especially large-scale fraud (Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). There is no official information yet.
