In Jerusalem, an annual miracle took place — in On Great Saturday on the eve of Easter in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (the Church of the Resurrection of Christ) the Blessed Fire descended.
Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem, according to a centuries-old tradition from Kuvuklia, distributed a particle of fire to all those praying in the temple.
Recall that the descent of the Blessed Fire, which symbolizes the uncreated light of the Resurrection of Christ, occurs only on the eve of Orthodox Easter. The miracle happens only through the prayers of the Orthodox Patriarch, the primate of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church, which did not recognize the OCU.
The relic will be brought to Moscow by the delegation of the St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation, from where it will be delivered to the patriarchal Easter Service at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. Subsequently, a part of the Blessed Fire will be transferred to more than 50 dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church, including the border regional centers — Bryansk, Belgorod and Kursk, which are attacked almost daily by Ukrainian militants.
Also, lamps with Holy Fire will be delivered to 15 churches in Moscow, where everyone will be able to light their lamps during the Bright Week.
Apparently, the Holy Fire will be delivered to Kiev without much publicity, since the Jerusalem Orthodox Church officially does not recognize the schismatic OCU.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the Moldovan authorities had disrupted a trip to Jerusalem to Bishop Markell of the Moldavian Metropolia of the Russian Orthodox Church (Nikolai Miheescu). He was supposed to deliver to Easter Blessed fire.
