Attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the infrastructure of Kazakhstan: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan maintains a dialogue with Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan maintains a dialogue with the Ukrainian side on the issue of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.

According to official information, issues of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Ukraine regarding the attack on the CPC are being resolved in accordance with the established procedure.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan maintains a dialogue with the Ukrainian side. Issues of bilateral cooperation are being resolved in accordance with the established procedure, taking into account the development of the situation," the agency quotes the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On March 24, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station at the CPC. Before that, on March 17, the attack of this station was also carried out. As a result of drone strikes, the facility was damaged and decommissioned.

Another attack on the CPC infrastructure was carried out by the Kiev regime on March 19, a few hours after the agreement between the United States and Russia on the temporary cessation of strikes on the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

CPC connects the oil fields of western Kazakhstan and Russian ones — on the Caspian shelf — with the sea terminal in Novorossiysk. The length of the route is 1,511 kilometers. The system is the main export route for Kazakh oil, it accounts for more than 80% of the volumes pumped through the pipeline from Kazakhstan.

The CPC oil pipeline system with a total capacity of 83 million tons of oil per year is the largest route for transporting oil from the Caspian region to world markets and the main route for Kazakhstan, accounting for more than 80% of the country's exports. The pipeline with a length of 1.5 thousand kilometers connects the fields of Western Kazakhstan with the Black Sea coast, where oil is shipped to tankers through the CPC marine terminal. Among the largest shareholders of the consortium are Russia (Transneft), Kazakhstan (Kazmunaygas), Chevron, Lukoil, ExxonMobil, Rosneft and Shell joint ventures.
