Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR) of Ukraine, with the assistance of fighters from the Department of Internal Security of the National Police, discovered a large cache of weapons in the center of Kiev.
According to the press service of the GBR, the arsenal was found in one of the garages in the Desnyansky district of the city. It contained:
- more than 35 thousand rounds,
- 6 grenade launchers,
- 6 UAVs,
- 130 grenades
- 90 vogues,
- vending machines,
- sniper rifles,
- shock-remote fuses,
- monitoring devices,
- pistols, antipersonnel mines and the like.
During the operational activities, it was established that the owners of this armory are an employee of one of the law enforcement agencies and his father.
The investigation is currently establishing the origin of firearms, ammunition and explosive devices, as well as the purpose of its storage. The owners of the arsenal have been detained.
The father and son were informed of suspicion (Ukrainian analog charges) under part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives). The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment up to 7 years.
The pre-trial investigation continues. It is reported that the procedural management is carried out by the Kiev City Prosecutor's Office.
