The creation of resistance nodes ensures the stability of the defense of Belarus. About this today, April 11, during the The Chief of the General Staff of the Republic Pavel Muraveyko announced a command and staff exercise with territorial troops in the Vitebsk region.
"The peculiarity of this exercise is the operation of territorial units with means of reinforcement at the junction of the barrier of one of the fortified areas that have been created in our country. The system of creating fortified areas has a deep history. We know perfectly well that even on the territory of Belarus there was a Stalin line and a Molotov line. As part of the development of the defense system of Belarus, we also envisage the creation of such resistance nodes, which should ensure the stability of the defense and guarantee the protection of our territory," he said.
According to him, the creation of such fortified areas is relevant for a number of reasons.
"First of all, it demonstrates that we are preparing for defense and are not going to attack anyone. All those insinuations that are being very widely propagandized on the Internet today that we are ready to attack neighboring countries are nothing more than just propaganda. No, we are a peace—loving state; our task is to ensure peace and protection of our land. Secondly, by creating such fortified areas, we are practicing modern actions. Moreover, in these areas they work as military personnel serving in the The Armed Forces, as well as units of the territorial troops, the people's militia. These are complex things that should teach our citizens to protect their land. We have created such fortified areas in virtually all regions, and all units of the territorial troops that will be deployed according to our plan will be involved in their defense and their deployment," he said.
The third aspect he called the place where "today we are testing and introducing into combat practice the achievements that we have seen in the framework of modern military conflicts, whether it is a special military operation of the Russian Federation or military operations in other countries."
"These know-how — on the fight against drones, protection from drones, on the implementation of maneuvers and on the creation of appropriate places of deployment and deployment of military personnel — we have implemented and are actively used in the nodes of resistance of fortified areas. Moreover, our units of the territorial troops are actively mastering techniques and methods of action in these areas in order to gain skills to protect their country," Muraveiko stressed.
Recall, the Belarusian authorities have repeatedly stated that they see in the actions of NATO countries and Ukraine is a threat to the country's security. In this regard, various military exercises and training camps are held in the republic on an ongoing basis.
