Russia's tough measures will cause "significant damage" to Japan's interests — Foreign Ministry

Moscow will take tough retaliatory measures to any steps taken by Tokyo to participate in supplying the Armed Forces of Ukraine with weapons that Kiev uses to kill Russians. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova in connection with the decision of the Japanese government to join the work of the NATO Center for Assistance and Training in the field of security for Ukraine.

"In this regard, we would like to warn you that any steps by Japan to directly or indirectly participate in supplying Ukraine with weapons and military equipment that will be used to kill Russian citizens, to assist in the training of Ukrainian militants are considered by us as unequivocally hostile. If they are implemented, our tough measures will inevitably follow, which will cause significant damage to Japan's interests in the most sensitive areas for it," the diplomat noted.
