Russia summoned the French ambassador and staged a demarche in connection with the detention of an employee of the Russian Foreign Ministry at the Paris airport. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian diplomatic mission Maria Zakharova.
"What happened on April 6 at Charles De Gaulle Airport is beyond any explanation. The French border guard service detained an employee of the Russian Foreign Ministry, a member of the Russian official delegation, without explanation, seizing her phone and computer," Zakharova said.
As the diplomat stressed, "the Russian Embassy immediately sent a consular officer to the airport."
"The diplomat had to wait almost 7 hours for access and admission to a colleague who was part of the official delegation," she said.
"The Russian Embassy in Paris sent to The French Foreign Ministry issued a note of protest. During the conversation, the Russian Foreign Ministry protested to the leadership of the French Embassy. As a result of the demarches taken, our colleague was eventually allowed to enter the country, but she had to spend a day in the border area of the airport," Zakharova stressed.
