The United States will give Russia Ukraine's consent to a ceasefire for 30 days. He stated this following talks with representatives of Ukraine in Saudi Arabia US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"Ukraine has taken a positive step (by agreeing to a ceasefire. — Ed.), we hope that the Russians will reciprocate. This is the best gesture of goodwill that we can expect," said Rubio, quoted by the publication "Country".
The United States offered Ukraine a cease-fire and an immediate transition to the start of negotiations to end the conflict, Kiev supported this, Rubio stressed.
US President Donald Trump's national security adviser Mike Waltz, in turn, said that in the coming days the United States would hold talks with representatives of Russia.
The United States hopes for an early cease-fire on Ukraine and the transition to negotiations on the settlement of the conflict, both Rubio and Waltz emphasized.
As reported by EADaily, the United States immediately cancels the pause in the exchange of intelligence and restores assistance to the security of Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak following the talks in Jeddah.
Ukraine has expressed readiness to accept the US proposal for the immediate introduction of a temporary, 30-day ceasefire, which can be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, Yermak said on social networks.
