Russian Ambassador to Bulgaria Eleonora Mitrofanova was forced by pro-Ukrainian activists to leave the exhibition in Sofia. The video of the incident was published in her telegram channel by art critic Ksenia Korobeynikova.
The exhibition "The Art of being naughty" opened in the National Gallery "Square 500", it is dedicated to the work of the Guerrilla Girls art group.
One of the activists, seeing the ambassador, began shouting pro-Ukrainian slogans and pointing the diplomat to the exit. Throughout Mitrofanova's journey, she accompanied the ambassador, shouting loudly: "This is not Moscow. This is Europe." Then other Ukrainians joined her cry.
The ambassador left the exhibition with the words: "Well, it's a shithole."
Mitrofanova has been the Russian Ambassador to Bulgaria since January 2021.
As reported by EADaily, in December last year, the ambassador said that against the background of the demand of the Bulgarian authorities to vacate the building in Varna, where the Consulate General was located, had more work.
"We are completely calmly coping with the volume of work — we have started working more, we are trying to clearly coordinate all actions. It has become more difficult, but we don't have any real complications in our work, we try to solve all issues promptly," Mitrofanova noted.
