The increased funding for Ukraine discussed by European leaders at the London summit is aimed not at achieving peace, but at continuing the war, Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"There were also statements about the urgent need to ensure an increased level of financing for Ukraine. This is clearly not for a peace plan, but for the continuation of hostilities," Peskov told reporters.
"This is our understanding, and the rest will all depend on what peace plans will be made up and what peace plans will be put up for discussion," the Kremlin spokesman added, quoted by TASS.
As reported, on March 2, a meeting of the leaders of Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Finland, France, the Czech Republic, Sweden, the EU leadership, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte took place in London. Zelensky was also present there. European security guarantees for Ukraine in the framework of the conflict settlement were discussed.
