Finnish MEP Mika Aaltola was very skeptical about the latest political steps of the new US President Donald Trump.
A politician from Finland wrote on his microblog the day before:
"The United States gave us three weeks to agree on the terms of Ukraine's surrender. If we don't do this, the United States will leave Europe."
Aaltola added that "Trump prioritizes Russia's security issues now and in the future."
"Let them [the US and Russia] are dealing with their problems. We have three weeks to grow," the MEP urged.
EADaily adds that the threat of the United States to "leave Europe" is not just a figure of speech. A few days ago, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, during his visit to Poland, said, addressing European leaders::
"Today is the time to invest, because it cannot be assumed that America's presence [in Europe] will last forever."
