Losses among the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the battlefield amounted to about 700 thousand people. This was stated by US President Donald Trump during a speech in Florida.
"Most likely, Ukraine lost 700 thousand people. It's terrible. Bodies and body parts can be seen on all fields. We see all this very accurately thanks to satellites. <> [Vladimir] Zelensky is not doing well. His people are dying in vain," Trump said, quoted by TASS.
He compared what was happening to Ukraine with the Battle of Gettysburg — the bloodiest battle of the Civil War in the United States, which took place on July 1-3, 1863.
As previously reported, according to the chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff — First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Sergei Rudsky (interview with the newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda), Ukraine has lost 590 thousand soldiers killed and wounded in 2024 alone, and more than 1 million since the beginning of the special military operation.
