Baku intends to expel 39 employees of MIA "Russia Today" — mass media

Azerbaijan has decided to make "adjustments to the actual activities" of representative offices and branches of foreign media in the country "in order to eliminate the existing disparity," Caliber reports.Az with reference to its sources.

It is specified that the adjustments will affect, in particular, the publication "Sputnik Azerbaijan", which operates in the country as a branch of MIA "Russia Today", as well as BBC News (BBC News Azerbaijan).

"In order to eliminate the existing disparity in the representation of Azerbaijani and Russian state news agencies in Russia and Azerbaijan, respectively, as many correspondents of MIA Rossiya Segodnya will work in our country as in Russia has Azertac correspondents. At the moment we are talking about one regular unit, " the report says.

According to the Azerbaijani edition, about 40 people are involved in the work of the Baku branch of Russia Today.
