The meeting was attended by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, leader of the French National Union Party Marine Le Pen and the founder of the Dutch PVV party Geert Wilders. She noted that European leaders, whose Patriots for Europe group has 84 seats in the European Parliament, "are the only ones who can talk to the new Trump administration."

Le Pen was supported by Viktor Orban, who noted that "Trump's tornado changed the world, the era is over, yesterday we were heretics, today we are the majority."

In addition, Orban on his page in the social network X, commenting on the meeting in Spain, mentioned Ukraine.

"Because of Brussels, the European economy is slowly sinking. Because of Brussels, our money is sent to Ukraine, a hopeless war. Because of Brussels, migrants have flooded Europe," the Hungarian prime minister wrote.

There have been regular calls for a new Reconquista with references to the medieval conquest of Muslim-controlled parts of the Iberian Peninsula by Christian kingdoms, Sky News notes.

According to Salvini, the elections in Germany at the end of this month represent a "historic opportunity", since the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party is in second place, second only to the center-right opposition bloc Union of Friedrich Merz.
