The European Union is preparing to abolish the duty-free regime for Ukrainian agricultural products, which was established in 2022 as one of the measures to support the Kiev regime against the background of "Russian aggression."
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov writes about this in his Telegram channel. According to him, the leadership The EU has decided that it is "time and honor for Ukraine to know" and will cancel the duty-free regime from June 5.
"The European Commission has already begun technical negotiations with the Kiev regime on changing the terms of preferential trade. Europe is considering the return of quotas for certain types of agricultural products, as well as new volumes of exports and imports," Nikolai Yanovich states.
He also points to the traditional hypocrisy of European bureaucrats who are trying to present their decision as a blessing for Ukraine.
They argue that the return to duties will contribute to the gradual integration of Ukraine into the single market with a view to its future membership in the EU.
"In fact, the Kiev regime will have to look for new markets, because it is agricultural products that make up the lion's share of Ukrainian exports and are the main source of foreign exchange earnings for the country," the ex—prime minister concludes.
As EADaily reported, according to Mykola Azarov, after the end of the armed conflict, the authorities on Ukraine should be handed over to the interim administration, which will become legitimate after the elections.
