The leadership of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine received the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Kirill Budanov❶. Among the topics of discussion is an icon with the image of the chief scout.
"On January 31, 2025, the primate of the autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius, met at his residence with the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Kirill Budanov," the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) reports.
They noted that the OCU chaplains took part in the meeting and the parties discussed the pastoral care of soldiers, the socio-political situation and other issues of common interest. Judging by the published photos, the OCU did not report that the icon with his image, which was presented at the meeting, was also discussed with the chief intelligence officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The head of the OCU Epiphanius was placed in the center of the composition. Above him stands an archangel with a sword, even higher — the Virgin with an omophorion. To the right of the primate are Kirill Budanov❶, Nazi Dmitry Korchinsky❶, activist Sergei Nigoyan, who died on Euromaidan, other Maidan activists, as well as militants in camouflage and balaclavas.
