Oxygen cylinders that were on board the crashed plane in Philadelphia could have caused the crash, Fox News correspondent Rich Zeoli suggested, citing sources.
Earlier, CBS reported that a small plane crashed in the northeast of the city of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, falling on a residential area. The US Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that there were six people in the crashed plane, not two, as previously stated.
"As we understand it, it is very possible that, since this is a medical aircraft, oxygen and... fuel could have provoked such a powerful explosion. Maybe it could give an explanation for this (catastrophe)," the correspondent said.
As the Fox News channel added with reference to the police, one oxygen cylinder was found near the crash site in the McDonald's parking lot.
According to the Fox News channel, the plane was performing a medical flight. There were allegedly two pilots, two doctors, a patient and a member of his family on board, they took off from the local airport shortly before the crash. Within 30 seconds after takeoff, the aircraft disappeared from radar at an altitude of about 487 meters.
According to Philadelphia Mayor Cheryl Parker, several houses and cars were damaged as a result of the incident, there is currently no data on casualties among residents.
