At the end of December, there was a massive invasion of drones at military facilities in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, none of them could be intercepted. It is reported by the German newspaper Bild with reference to the Land Ministry of the Interior.

It is not specified which military facilities are in question, however, among other things, the American military base Ramstein is located in the region, the DW * Main telegram channel notes.

According to the representative of the Land Ministry of Internal Affairs, only in this region last year about a hundred such cases were recorded.

"In Germany, the use of large drones for surveillance of security facilities is also noticeably increasing. Presumably, this is part of a hybrid war being waged by Russia," said a representative of the Land Ministry of Internal Affairs.

We are talking about large unmanned aerial vehicles, including the size of a passenger car, which can be launched outside of Germany, the publication clarifies, citing informed sources.

The Rhineland-Palatinate Police has created a special department to investigate drone flights.

As EADaily reported in mid-December, unidentified drones were spotted over German military facilities, including the American Ramstein base.

In addition to Ramstein, drones were recorded over the factories of the German military concern Rheinmetall and the chemical concern BASF. At the same time in The Pentagon was quick to assure that the drones had no impact on the operation of the Ramstein base.
