In 2024, Germany imported from Russia has at least 68.6 tons of uranium — almost 70% more than in 2023. This is reported by the German magazine Spiegel with reference to the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Protection of Lower Saxony.
The uranium was delivered to the Advanced Nuclear Fuels fuel cell production plant in Lower Saxon Lingen.

It is noted that ANF is a "subsidiary" of the French company Framatome, which, in turn, wants to create a joint venture with Rosatom. It is in Lingen that they plan to produce fuel elements for water-water power reactors (VVER) of the "Russian type".
