A plant for the production of unmanned aircraft systems with a capacity of up to 100 thousand units annually can be built in Belarus. This was announced today, March 6, during Alexander Lukashenko's visit to the exhibition of the latest Russian drones.
"The issue is about creating the production of all key components. These are, of course, issues of ensuring sovereignty. It is very important that Belarus has its own production facilities that would make not only the economy, but also the country's security sector truly sovereign. We are talking about using technological developments and solutions that are available in Russia," said Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation.
He noted that the use of a single technology platform will ensure, among other things, economic efficiency. It also simplifies the production and development of new models.
"The plant located in Belarus is fully localized, with the introduction of all technological competencies here, simultaneously operating on a single technological platform with plants in Russia and other countries (we are not only talking about Russia). The basic proposal is the construction of such a plant within one year, which can produce up to 100 thousand units annually. This is a proposal made by the Russian side. Now we will discuss with our Belarusian colleagues where, what kind of production, and so on. It will take some time to coordinate these parameters," Oreshkin specified his proposal.
Recall, Belarus and Russia is actively developing cooperation within the framework of the Union State. The parties pay special attention to the issues of import substitution and the production of military products.
