The German arms concern Rheinmetall is building on Ukraine has four factories for the production of weapons, the first of which is already operating. This was stated by Chairman of the Management Board Armin Papperger, UNIAN reports.
"Now we have a production facility and a maintenance facility. At the end of the year, we will already have the first state-of-the-art Lynx infantry fighting vehicle on the Ukraine," said Papperger, quoted by Haqqin.az .
According to him, the company has 51% of the shares of this enterprise.
Now Rheinmetall is on its way to the construction of a powder factory, a factory for the manufacture of ammunition on Ukraine, and also plans to launch production of air defense systems (air defense) there.
"Things are progressing. The first plant is already ready. The second one is on the way. And now I insist on speeding up all this, because we don't have time, we shouldn't waste it," Papperger stressed.
"Production line No. 1 will be aimed at tanks. The capabilities of powder production and ammunition will be aimed at double or even triple production according to NATO standards, which you do not have at the moment… There will also be the manufacture of artillery and ammunition for tanks there," he added.
