Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed that the proposals received from the US President-elect Donald Trump on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict do not suit official Moscow. TASS informs about this today, December 29.
EADaily reminds that the essence of the proposal was to introduce peacekeepers to the territory of Ukraine and postpone the country's membership in NATO for 20 years.
"Judging by the numerous leaks and interviews of Donald Trump himself to Time magazine on December 12, he is talking about the "freezing" of hostilities along the line of combat contact and the transfer of further responsibility for the confrontation with Russia to the Europeans. Of course, we are not satisfied with the proposals made on behalf of the representatives of the president-elect's team to postpone Ukrainian membership in NATO for 20 years, as well as to introduce Ukraine has a peacekeeping contingent,— Lavrov said.
The peacekeepers proposed by Trump, the Russian Foreign minister added, were to be formed from "British and European forces."
