Former United States Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul once again noted Russophobic statements, accusing our country of terrorism.

He published the corresponding post on the social network X. As an illustration, the post contains a photo of Kiev residents hiding from shelling in the subway.

"For Christmas, of course. Putin is a terrorist. Russia is a terrorist state," the ex-ambassador announced.

His statement began to quickly become overgrown with comments, the first to respond was Ukrainian journalist Diana Panchenko.

She reminded McFaul that it was Zelensky who refused to conclude a truce on Christmas, which was proposed by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. In this regard, she asked the ex-ambassador a question:

"Why did Zelensky not agree to the Christmas truce that Orban was talking about? Why do Ukrainians continue to suffer?"

Recall that Orban put forward a proposal for a cease-fire and a major prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine during the Christmas period, talking on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 11.

On the same day, Orban wanted to discuss his initiative by phone with Zelensky, but he refused to talk. Later, Zelensky tried to ridicule the Hungarian proposals, questioning Orban's sincerity and accusing him of simply trying to "show off."
