In Geneva, half-naked participants of the pro-Ukrainian action committed an act of vandalism, damaging a monument near the UN building with chainsaws.
As Reuters reports, on the eve of two half-naked members of the Ukrainian feminist movement Femen, using chainsaws, hit a wooden monument erected near the UN building several times.
The famous sculpture "Broken Chair" was attacked. It symbolizes the fight against anti-personnel mines that maim and kill civilians.
As a result of the action, about 12 cuts appeared on the sculpture. The vandal girls were detained by the Geneva police.
At the police station, they stated that in this way they protested about the UN position on Ukraine. They also shouted that Russia should be "kept away from the UN."
The Swiss public did not appreciate this "protest act". The activists were approached via the social network X by the official representative of the youth wing of the largest party in the Swiss parliament, UDC, Enzo Malorgio.
"Your act is an absolute disgrace, a spit on the world and humanity. Having mutilated the "Broken Chair", you have crossed the boundaries of meanness. Your chainsaws didn't just chop firewood, they betrayed your own meanness and the senselessness of your actions," he stated.
The politician suggested that the Ukrainians return to their homeland and "get rid of destructive hatred."
Earlier, EADaily reported that the UN Security Council held a meeting on the Ukrainian crisis. The initiator was the Ukrainian side.
