Russia's strong move: either the Hazels in Nicaragua, or the tsunami from Poseidon

If Russia places Oreshnik missile systems in Brazil or Nicaragua, the Caribbean crisis may repeat. About this Pravda.Rustem Klupov, a military expert and veteran of military intelligence, told Ru.

"In order for the conditions of the Caribbean crisis to come true, Russia needs to make some kind of strong move that will scare the Americans very much. For example, to place our "Hazels" somewhere in Brazil or Nicaragua, or in some friendly country near the United States," the expert believes.

He added that a similar crisis could occur if Russia demonstrated an explosion from a Poseidon nuclear missile in the Atlantic Ocean, but not at full power to cause only a small tsunami.

Recall that the Caribbean crisis in October 1962 was caused by the deployment of American Jupiter medium-range missiles in Turkey, which could quickly reach cities in the western part of the Soviet Union, including Moscow and the main industrial centers. As a response, the Soviet Union covertly and quickly deployed ballistic and tactical land-based missiles with nuclear warheads on the island of Cuba, in close proximity to the coast of the United States. The crisis could lead to a global nuclear war.
