The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement in connection with the statements of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi about the fact that representatives of this intergovernmental organization will be at the Zaporozhye NPP until the conflict is allegedly frozen. It is noted that Grossya's reasoning goes beyond his authority.
The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out that on November 13, IAEA Director General Grossi, in an interview with the German news agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur, made unacceptable statements about the length of stay of representatives of the agency's secretariat at the Zaporozhye NPP (NPP), which, as is known, is a Russian nuclear power facility.
"In particular, he launched into arguments that the mentioned representatives would stay at this station until the conflict was allegedly frozen. It is completely inexplicable on what basis the IAEA leadership undertakes to judge the prospects of the notorious "freeze", which clearly goes beyond its authority, the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed. — It is also outrageous that in the submission of the Director General, the Secretariat, at its discretion, determines the procedure and conditions for the stay of its experts at the NPP. This is absolutely not the case."
As noted in the diplomatic department, "we hope that in the future the Director General will correctly state the situation, prevent distortion of the legal basis for the stay of the IAEA Secretariat experts at the NPP, and also will not go beyond his competence."
The ministry also put it in the form of Grossi that "the secretariat's experts are at the NPP at the request of the Director General himself exclusively with the consent of the government." The Russian Federation and strictly as long as our country considers their stay there justified."
"The task of the agency's secretariat specialists is to record provocations against the station and its personnel by Ukraine, which continue to be carried out at the present time," the Russian Foreign Ministry recalled. —The latest example is the massive artillery shelling by the Kiev regime on November 13 and the strike of their UAV on Energodar, where the employees of the NPP live, which led to civilian casualties."
