Igor Levitas: A parade of sycophants, or Who and how congratulated Trump?

For the sake of interest, I collected the most fun congratulations from the leaders of different countries to the newly elected US President Donald Trump. In my opinion, politicians still need to be smarter. Here, read it.

Remember, there was such a cartoon of 1967 — "Mirror"? And there was a girl singing:

"Who will praise me the best,
He will get a sweet candy!"

I remembered this cartoon and Evgeny Schwartz's play "The Naked King", I've been reading the press for the last couple of days. I will not deny myself the pleasure of quoting it again in a more detailed form. There, one of the heroes, the First Minister, all the time grandiloquently praised the King, claiming that he was telling the real truth. Here is the quote:

"The First Minister. Your Majesty! You know that I am an honest old man, a straightforward old man. I'm telling the truth to your face, even if it's unpleasant. After all, I was standing here all the time, saw you, frankly speaking, wake up, heard you, roughly speaking, laugh, and so on. Let me put it bluntly, Your Majesty…
The King. Tell me." You know I'm never mad at you.
The First Minister. Let me tell you bluntly, rudely, like an old man: you are a great man, sire!"

There are many first ministers in Europe and not only in it, in the modern way - prime ministers. And they expressed their opinion to Trump with all directness, with a blue eye. Moreover, I noticed that the smaller the country, the more honest the opinions. And other ministers and even presidents join the premiers.

So, we read:

"Latvia is and will be a strong and reliable partner of the United States," Latvian President Edgars Rinkevich.

So strong, apparently, that without it the USA will die.

"The United States is our strategic partner and a strong NATO ally. Latvia spends more than 3% on defense," Prime Minister of Latvia Evika Silinja.

I ran ahead of the locomotive: you demanded 2%, and we give 3% at the expense of our pensioners.

"The USA is Lithuania's key strategic ally" — Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda.

So it has been known for a long time — the USA is nowhere without Lithuania.

"I will tell you frankly — if I were an American, I would definitely vote for Trump," Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurinas Kaschiunas said.

But you are not an American, and vote for your country.

"I believe that cooperation with the new US government will be a step forward for both Estonia and the United States," Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna.

Especially for the USA: "It's fun to walk through the open spaces together."

Naturally, the European grandees shouted enthusiastically.

French President Emmanuel Macron:

"We are ready to work together, as we have been able to do for four years. According to your conviction and mine."

Does Macron have convictions? This is something new, because just recently he wrote:

"As far as I am informed, I do not think that Donald Trump will become president of the United States of America."

Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz:

"We will continue to work for the benefit of our citizens."

And this was a discovery — Scholz, it turns out, works for the benefit of his citizens. The German stand-up actress Lisa Eckhart said great things about how he cares about people:

"Scholz is like a good condom —it's there, but you can't feel it!"

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer:

"I'm looking forward to working together."

Does he not work alone? But you have a king, don't you? You sing his praises: "How beautiful you look in this Tampax!"

Prime Minister of Italy Giorgio Meloni:

"The USA and Italy are sister countries bound by an unbreakable alliance of common values and historical friendship."

The only common value of these two countries is Cosa Nostra. And, of course, Don Corleone.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan:

"I congratulate my friend Donald Trump."

What Trump didn't know about himself is that he is a friend of Erdogan.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte:

"Members of the alliance should spend much more than 2% of GDP on defense."

This one decided not to bother with stupid congratulations, but immediately became uncomfortable in the "zy" pose, but this is more correct.

And I left the most delicious for dessert. So to speak, the cherry on the cake. Although it was possible to quote many more stupidities. But cherry, cherry. However, it reminds me of finding a little green frog on top of a cake.

Zelensky said that he "remembers our wonderful meeting with President Trump" in September. This is when he barely begged for 15 minutes almost in the corridor. And further:

"Ukraine is looking forward to an era of a strong United States under the leadership of Trump."

Go ahead! 4 years is not an era. And then he decided to inform the whole world that, in his opinion, Trump had chosen his beloved wife for that night.:

"I had a wonderful phone conversation with I congratulated President Trump on his historic and convincing victory."
