US presidential candidate Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden are preparing to call Donald Trump today to officially admit the defeat of the Democratic Party in the elections. It is reported by NBC with reference to sources.

Harris is expected to call Trump today and also deliver a public address to the nation, two of her aides said.

"The timing is being clarified. Now Harris is working on his speech, said one of the assistants," the channel reports.

According to a White House spokesman, Joe Biden also intends to call Trump today and speak publicly. At what time this will happen, it remains to be determined.

"According to a White House spokesman, Biden's approach to Trump's victory will be to do all the things that Trump never did when Biden won in 2020 — call to congratulate him, invite him to the White House and attend his inauguration," NBC reports.

The White House has publicly stated that Biden will attend the inauguration if Trump wins, the channel notes.
