New York Mayor Eric Adams urged residents and government agencies to save water amid extremely poor rainfall in October, which became one of the driest months in the city's history.
"October was one of the driest months in recorded history... I urge all my agencies to create their own water conservation plans and start implementing them. But we also need your help, New Yorkers," the mayor said on the social network X.
As noted by the local branch of the NBC News channel, October became one of the driest months in the history of the city — only on October 29, for the first time in the whole month, the amount of precipitation could be measured and was only about 0.01 inches or 0.25 millimeters.
