In Poland, there is a new scandal with former Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz. As part of the investigation into the fraud and fraud of the Smolensk Subcommittee, the security forces found out that Macierewicz was in contact with a mysterious Russian who arrived in Warsaw on a national visa.

Polish military expert, retired Colonel Marcin Falinski, referring to the shocking findings of the Ministry of National Defense, said in an interview with Onet:

"It is very important that it was a national visa, not a Schengen one, because no biometric data was collected in this case. He could come once and then disappear [in Europe]. If biometric data had been collected, we would have been able to find him," Falinsky explained.

According to the report, on December 6, 2020, a meeting was held between a certain Russian, Alexander Glazkov, and the head of the Smolensk Subcommittee, Anthony Matserevich. Glazkov allegedly gave the politician a flash drive with "interesting information" about the Smolensk plane crash that claimed the lives of 96 people, including the country's president Lech Kaczynski. At the same time, Polish military counterintelligence received information about this meeting only on December 21, which made counterintelligence protection impossible.

Military analyst Falinsky believes that Glazkov is an agent of Russian intelligence, who simply fooled the ex-Minister of Defense. In general, the expert is extremely skeptical about the level of Polish counterintelligence.

"Russians are well aware of how we live, what we do as Poles, what our social fears and problems are. The Russians have always wanted to stir up chaos and disorder in our country! Therefore, they always hit exactly the notes that cause us confusion. The Russians are very far-sighted. For them, the 1970s or 2000s - that is, 30-50 years - is the standard when it comes to the work of the special services. The Macierewicz case has never been investigated so thoroughly from the point of view of counterintelligence!" said Colonel Marcin Falinski.
