Russia does not consider Ukraine's invitation to NATO as a subject of negotiations, it is this desire of Kiev that has become one of the causes of the Ukrainian crisis. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova at a briefing.
"Kiev's invitation to NATO cannot be negotiated with Russia either now or in the future. It was Ukraine's desire to join the alliance to the detriment of our country's security that, along with terror against the Russian, Russian—speaking population of Donbass and terror in general, became one of the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis and the beginning of a special military operation," the diplomat said, quoted by TASS.
