Afghanistan provides itself with 80% of its own diesel fuel. This was stated in the Afghan Union of Refineries, reports Ariana News.
The private sector has invested hundreds of millions of dollars in the field of crude oil refining, and this complex is developing every day. At the same time, the union claims that diesel, which is produced at domestic plants, meets international standards.
"We cover 80% of the market needs. Currently, 80% of diesel fuel is produced in our country, and 20% comes from abroad," said Zabiullah Nazari, Deputy chairman of the Afghan Union of Refineries.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Ministry of Oil and Mining of Afghanistan said that they are trying to increase the production capacity of the Amu Darya oil basin so that all the country's oil needs are met through domestic production. Along with the Amu Darya oil basin, they are also trying to attract investment in the Herat oil field in order to start its development.
