The Foreign Minister of the Jewish state of Israel, Katz, declared UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres persona non grata and banned him from entering the country. This was reported by the press service of the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

"Foreign Minister Israel Katz said today (October 2) that he has declared UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres persona non grata in Israel, banning him from entering the country. This decision was made in light of Guterres' reaction to Iran's heinous attack on Israel, in which he ... did not unequivocally condemn its serious aggression," the statement said, quoted by RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the UN Secretary General wrote on the social network X that he condemned the expansion of the conflict in the Middle East "with escalation after escalation" and called for a cease-fire. At the same time, neither Israel nor Iran were mentioned in his message.

As EADaily reported, yesterday, after a massive attack by Iran, The Jerusalem Post newspaper wrote that about 400 rockets were launched into Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Iran's missile strike "failed thanks to Israeli air defense and US assistance."

Late on the evening of October 1, Iran launched a massive missile strike on Israeli territory in response to attacks on the leaders of pro-Iranian groups. The IRGC said that the strike was aimed at military and intelligence facilities in Israel, in particular, three military bases. Tehran called its actions justified, and the strikes were successful. Iranian publications reported significant damage that the Israeli Air Force managed to inflict: Shafaqna writes about the destruction of 20 F-35 fighters, FARS claims that 80% of the missiles fired hit targets.
