New details of the investigation of the criminal case on the supply of substandard body armor for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have become known.
As the RIA Novosti news agency reports, referring to the materials of the criminal case, new defendants may appear in it. The investigation does not consider its work completed.
"Not all witnesses and other members of the organized group have been identified and questioned," the statement said.
Recall that in early May, the Basmanny district Court of Moscow placed under arrest the heads of LLC GC "Picket", who are suspected of embezzlement of funds from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
The company's CEO Andrei Esipov, financial director Victoria Antonova and head of the security service Mikhail Kalchenko were taken into custody.
All of them are charged with fraud on a large scale. On the eve of these three defendants extended the measure of restraint until December 3.
According to the investigation, employees of the Picket Group committed embezzlement of at least 2.4 billion rubles allocated by the Ministry of Defense under a state contract for the supply of protective equipment. The company supplied the army with at least 20,040 bulletproof vests that do not meet the accepted standards.
As EADaily reported, according to investigators, the funds stolen from the Ministry of Defense during the implementation of the state contract were invested by the defendants in the case in the purchase of land in Balashikha.
