The Russian armed Forces have dealt the most massive blow to the critical infrastructure of Ukraine, in particular the fuel and energy sector of the state, this statement was made by the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force Nikolai Oleschuk in his telegram channel.

"On the night of Monday, August 26, 2024... (Russian forces) launched a massive combined strike on critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine, in particular on the fuel and energy sector of the state, using missiles of various types of air, land and sea-based," he said.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Armed Forces on Monday launched a massive strike with high-precision long-range air- and sea-based high-precision weapons, operational-tactical aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces, strike unmanned aerial vehicles on critical energy infrastructure facilities that ensured the operation of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine. The ministry stressed that all designated targets were hit.

Explosions on the eve of the morning thundered almost all over Ukraine, the air alert in the country was announced after six o'clock in the morning in Moscow. Local authorities and the media reported explosions in a number of regions, including Kiev. The Ukrainian energy holding DTEK announced the introduction of emergency blackouts throughout the country. Energy Minister German Galushchenko called the situation in the energy system after the Russian military strike difficult.

In response to attacks on civilian targets, Russian troops regularly deliver targeted strikes at the locations of personnel, equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and mercenaries, as well as infrastructure: energy facilities, defense industry, military administration and communications of Ukraine.
