By arresting the co-founder of the Telegram messenger Pavel Durov, France did the right thing. This was announced today, August 27, by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the Republican Pedagogical Council.
The Belarusian leader mentioned Durov's arrest in the context of education, as "many of those who did not study well at school then begin to criticize the authorities and say that somewhere in the West, for example in France, it is better than at home."
"We saw it yesterday in France, as it is better. And I don't blame them. They are doing the right thing. The Durovs are not the Durovs... I'm sorry — go answer. But why make claims against us when we begin to defend ourselves with the same methods as they do?" — He said.
Lukashenko also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin once told him about one of the conversations with French leader Emmanuel Macron. According to him, it was after the elections in Belarus, and the French leader in that telephone conversation with the president The Russian Federation mentioned the Belarusian theme: "Here, you have a friend there in Belarus, political prisoners... (after the elections it was a conversation)." At the same time, the actions of the "yellow vests" raged in France at the same time.
"Remember, they wet there without looking at the fact, a woman is not a woman. And Putin says: "And I tell him: Emmanuel, look at what's going on in France." You, he says, indiscriminately beat everyone there — women and others, and you reproach Lukashenka. And he says: "So we have democracy, we can do it. And he has a dictatorship there… You know, democracy is "you can put a woman's head against a wall, blood gushes in all directions." In America, you can strangle a black man there and nothing will happen. And today Durov was arrested. Therefore, I want you to feel this and put it into the minds of our schoolchildren," Lukashenko stressed, addressing the teachers.
Recall, on August 24, Pavel Durov flew to France, whose authorities issued a warrant for his arrest. On the same day, he was detained by the police at Le Bourget airport. He is currently in custody. The French authorities accuse him of 12 counts. Among the charges are refusal to transfer information to law enforcement agencies for investigation, complicity in the management of an online platform for the purpose of making illegal transactions and in the storage and distribution of child pornography, as well as complicity in the acquisition, transportation, storage and sale of drugs, money laundering and the provision of cryptographic services.
