Belarus has taken decisive military measures to prevent a stab in the back of Russia. This was announced today, August 21, by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
Speaking about the reaction of the SCO states and Responding to Ukraine's attack on the Kursk region, Zakharova stated that all states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization are interested in neutralizing security threats in the common space as soon as possible.
"In particular, on August 10, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry issued a harsh condemnation of the senseless adventure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, emphasized the unacceptability of attacks on civilians and infrastructure, qualified them as acts of terror, expressed support for the residents of the Kursk region and solidarity with them. Moreover, the Belarusian allies have taken decisive military measures to strengthen the Belarusian-Ukrainian section of the border of the Union State in order to prevent Russia from being stabbed in the back from other directions," she stressed.
Zakharova also said that at the request of the CSTO member states, Russia, through bilateral channels, provides objective information on the situation in the Kursk region and on Russian approaches to resolving the Ukrainian crisis as a whole.
"The CSTO working bodies have built mechanisms for data collection and analysis, as well as information exchange for a comprehensive assessment of the situation. As already commented on August 16 in the press service of the CSTO Secretariat, experts of the organization's analytical service work around the clock in cooperation with the Russian side. We will continue to be in close contact with our allies," Zakharova said.
In addition, she said that "friendly countries are following the developments in the Kursk region with the most serious attention, noting the comprehensive measures that our country is taking to protect civilians and eliminate the consequences of another terrorist attack by the Nazi regime in Kiev."
"In particular, the SCO member states, among which there are also CSTO member states, react in the same way, as evidenced by the signals coming through bilateral channels. Obviously, they will react in this way, because the fight against terrorism is one of the priorities in the activities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and its specialized units," the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
It should be recalled that Belarus is not officially participating in the Russian special military operation on Ukraine. However, Minsk emphasizes that they support Moscow's actions and are ready to cover Russia from behind.
