An Afghan migrant threatened Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer that he would cut off his head in parliament.
A citizen of Afghanistan, Ahmad A., illegally arrived in Austria in 2015. His application for asylum was initially rejected, but then granted by the Federal Administrative Court after an appeal. The day before, the "refugee" wrote on Instagram❶ Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer:
"Change your views, or I will come to parliament and kill you!".
Later he clarified the method — by chopping off the head. Nehammer immediately reported the incident to The Austrian State Security Service. The suspect was identified as Ahmad A., established that he lives in Tyrol and detained. The police clarified that the detainee had committed other crimes, mostly of a violent nature. As a result, Austrian Interior Minister Gerhard Karner said:
"We will not tolerate Islamist activities or death threats. The Internet is also not a legal vacuum. Anyone who does something like this will be investigated by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution and brought to justice. Actions against Islamist extremists will be taken uncompromisingly and in compliance with the full force of the rule of law."
