The attack on the Kursk region is a step that Ukraine will bitterly regret. This was stated today at an informal meeting of the UN Security Council on crimes of Kiev by the first Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the world Organization Dmitry Polyansky.

"In June, Russia made a very generous offer to Ukraine, given its desperate situation on the front line. A week ago, the Kiev regime chose escalation and war by attacking the Kursk region. This is a step that Ukraine will bitterly regret. But the choice was made," said the first deputy Permanent Representative.

The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine was trying to improve its negotiating positions with the offensive in the Kursk region, but now there "is no question of any negotiations with Kiev."

"But what kind of negotiations can we talk about at all with people who indiscriminately strike at civilians, civilian infrastructure, or try to create threats to nuclear power facilities," Putin said.

Recall, on the eve of the Swiss summit on Ukraine, Putin put forward his plan for resolving the conflict: the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the neutral status of Ukraine, giving the Russian language the official status of the state language and the demilitarization of Ukraine.
